What Therapy With Me Looks Like

I offer individual and couples psychotherapy for adults in Arizona. The work is relational and depth-oriented — less focused on managing symptoms and more interested in what's underneath them. How patterns formed, what they're protecting, and what becomes possible when they're no longer needed.

Sessions are not structured around agendas or homework. They're shaped by what's present — what you bring in, what surfaces in the room, and what your system is already trying to tell you.

A Little About Me

I'm Lacey — a licensed clinical social worker based in Arizona with over a decade of experience working with individuals and couples in their patterns, their stuckness, and the places they haven't been able to get to alone.

I came to this work partly because I know what it's like to feel lost inside your own relationships — performing, adapting, and wondering who you actually are underneath all of it. That experience shapes how I show up. I work slowly, relationally, and without an agenda. I'm not here to fix you. I'm here to be with you in the places that have been hard to sit with alone.

In addition to my clinical work, I'm the author of The Process of Unbecoming and the creator of The Unbecoming Hub — a broader body of work exploring identity, adaptation, and what becomes possible when we stop trying to be who we learned to be.

Ways We Can Work Together

Therapy isn't the only way to work with me. Depending on where you are and what you need, there may be a format that fits better than a traditional weekly session.

The Touchpoint —  A single 60-minute session. A starting point if we haven't worked together before, ongoing sessions, or a place to return when you need to orient.
$200 (Couples $250)

The Intensive —  A 3 or 6-month container for sustained, structured work. Includes bi-weekly sessions, between-session contact, and full course library access. Payment plans available.
From $2,800

The Continuous —  Ongoing async support used across the month as things surface — voice memos, email exchanges, and custom prompts. No fixed session times. Available after at least one live session together.
$350 / month

Not sure which fits? Reach out through the form below and I can help you figure it out.

Background and Training

I am a licensed therapist with advanced training in trauma, attachment, and nervous system–informed care. My clinical work is informed by both traditional psychotherapy and somatic-based approaches, allowing us to work not only with insight, but with how experiences live in the body.

In addition to my clinical work, I am the author of The Process of Unbecoming and the creator of The Unbecoming Hub — a body of work exploring identity, adaptation, and meaning beyond the traditional therapy model.

Areas of Focus

I specialize in working with adults who are thoughtful, self-aware, and motivated, yet feel stuck in ways they can't think their way out of.

Common areas of focus include:

  • Trauma and developmental trauma

  • Attachment wounds and relational patterns

  • Anxiety, chronic stress, and nervous system overwhelm

  • Grief, loss, and life transitions

  • Identity confusion and existential questioning

  • Burnout, over-responsibility, and self-abandonment

  • Difficulty with emotional regulation or feeling “at home” in the body

I am especially attuned to working with people who have done a lot of “inner work” but sense that something deeper remains unresolved.

How I Work

Therapy with me is collaborative and relational. I pay close attention not only to what you're saying, but to how your system responds — emotionally, physically, and relationally — in real time.

Sessions are not rushed and are not driven by rigid agendas. Together, we work to:

  • Understand how your nervous system learned to adapt

  • Make sense of emotional and relational patterns without pathologizing them

  • Create internal safety for new ways of responding to stress, intimacy, and uncertainty

  • Support insight that leads to integration, not just awareness

While diagnosis may be used when clinically appropriate, my primary focus is on understanding the context of your experience rather than labeling it.

Getting Started

I work with a limited number of therapy clients in order to preserve the quality and depth of the work. Therapy is offered to adults residing in Arizona and requires an initial consultation to determine fit.

Use the form below to reach out. I'll respond as soon as I can. From there, we will schedule a brief consultation call before anything is confirmed.
